MY ENCOUNTER WITH FAILURE

That when Failure knocked the door,
I knew not how to behave,
Or to see his dreadful face,
in the most positive manner I'd ever known.

That when Failure knocked the door,
I quickly ran to shut the door,
But my inner conscience fought me,
For treating a guest with so much malice

That when Failure knocked the door,
I answered him, and looked up his dreadful face.
I shooed away his company, his friends-
namely Anger and Distress.

That when Failure knocked the door
I stood up straight on the floor
and tried my best to hide my contempt,
and put forward hospitality and preempt.

I welcomed him in, quite reluctantly,
and showed him around the house.
I took him to his room,
and provided him bread and loom.

The next day, earlier than day break,
Failure got up and left the house,
Leaving behind him a huge fortune as a token
Of his appreciation for my love and care.

Later, Years Later, when I walked
Into the palaces of the Greats,
I found them, to my amazement, made up
Of the same fortune left by my friend.

BENEATH THE MASK OF EVERYDAY UNIVERSE

BENEATH THE MASK OF EVERYDAY UNIVERSE

Beneath this mask of everyday universe,
There lies a cosmic system, a system
So intricate and complex,
That the mere saying of its name,
Would anger the wise and the scholars.

Beneath this illusionary world,
There lies a unity of purpose,
A clear evident Will
Which is responsible for everything.

Beneath the hustles and bustles of everyday life,
There exists a corner, a corner
Where all life halts
And where every sin forgiven.

Beneath the mask of development and progress,
There lies the face of a greedy man, a man
Who would give away everything
To get what he wants.

Beneath the egos and self beliefs,
There lie men, women and children,
Who wants to be cuddled,
Loved and believed.

Beneath the act of anger and revenge,
There lies an event, an event
Which is triggered by foreign factors
And external circumstance.

Beneath this world of ‘I’ and ‘You’
There exists a world of unified consciousness
And purpose.

Beneath this mask of every day universe,
That’s where true life exists.

ALL OUR LIVES

ALL OUR LIVES

All our lives, we have been convinced
That we are good for nothing,
Mere creepers who walk the land,
Doing nothing and caring about nothing.
We have long been stripped off
From the title of an ‘Individual’
And are now treated as low as a worm.

All our lives, we were held responsible,
For the mistakes that we never commit.
All our lives, we were put into those horrible situations
Because we believed in existentialism.

All our lives, we were laughed at,
Cursed, and became a mere laughter
For all those who didn’t care
A bit about the world.

All our lives, we have been mere servants
To the whims and wishes of the virus
That runs the system.
The system- Our body.

There’s a lot of crap in the air,
And none of it can be cleaned
Without faith –Faith- The only weapon
Against destructive programming.

I need to have my dose of faith,
Where is it, I know not!
I wish I knew, but then knowing
Itself is a wishful act!
Acting is more than just knowing,
It is Active Knowing!

Why have I grown up,
And surrendered to such prejudices?
Well, because of survivalism,
I had to survive,
To minimize the loss,
And to reduce the pain.

Ode to the vagabond II

Unstirred by the rising sun,
Undisturbed by the setting sun,
The vagabond lives a life of fun,
Let his tasks be done or undone.

Unrested he arises from his den
Stirred up by a sudden doze of passion,
His life is run by passion, and passion
Alone, and he is, none, but a passionate man.

Unaware of how his light is spent,
The vagabond wastes no time to lament
Over his deeds, his ideals are those of the saints,
And in his mind, new ideas grow and ferment.

Unstirred, Undisturbed, Unrested and Unaware
The vagabond lives his life, deprived of care.

Give me passion

Where on the heaven bounty
Can passion be found?
-in or by Apollo’s county?
Could be, since wisdom is a good
Predictor of a passionate body.
My heart longs to find
Its passion and my body
Starves to feel its presence.

My life sails on the situational waters
As slow as a boat in a dusty pond.
Give me passion and my live will tear through the waters
And get to its destination with no loss of bond.

I ask not much, but a reason
To wake up early in late nights
And to resist the temptations
Of sleeping early at night.
O! The heaven bounty
Shower upon me from your gracious county
A passion- a reason to live
And a reason or cause for which to die.

Ode to Vagabond

This is one of the poems that I have ever written in my lifetime. Through the poem, I intend to put forth a message that the people who stay away from the society (in other words- the vagabonds) have done us more good than harm. In fact, saying that they have done any harm would be extremely wrong. In context to that, every person who doesn't count in as the member of the general mass, people like scientists, doctors, writers, and geeks and nerds come under the category of vagabonds.

I hope you enjoy the poem!

I 'll be waiting to read your comments on it!

Oh thee! the vagabond,
thy arms pain with carrying the load of the world.
Thy art the reason why man lives
a life of luxury and content.
Thy art the source of inspiration
from where an average man draws his inspiration.
Thy art the fountain of peace, content and happiness
with which an average man floods his household.
Thy art the light of the day
with which an average man finds his way.
Thy art the ocean of ideas and knowledge
from where an average man extracts his supplement of wisdom.
Thy art an integral part of the human social life,
but they art not a part of the human society.

Think Arete

Today's post is just an introduction to the idea of  "Arete" and its application in today's world.

The idea was extremely popular in the Greek culture; Socrates is attributed as the person who coined the term "Arete".

The idea is about attaining your personal best, all the time! Not now, or then, but all the time!

The following video may help you to understand the point.

As always, you comments are welcomed. Below the post, you'll see some buttons. (It's a new addition to the blog post. Hope you'll like it! )

Greatness Unrealeased

Today was the last day of exam, I was walking out of the School with full bright. I was happy, and remembering the pain I had to go through during the examination days and hours made me a little bit proud. I looked around, and everyone looked happy. Smile and laughter was falling down their faces as river flows down a hill or a mountain. But, then, my sight was captured by something. I saw two ladies- two ladies, one of them a bit taller than the other, and stooping a bit to balance the weight of a suitcase that both of them were mutually carrying. I looked at them for one more second, and then withdrew my glance. I looked back at me, and saw the only thing that I was carrying was a small box and a few papers. Then, and there I decided that I ought to help the ladies, and decided to walk next to them, and ask if they required any help.

But, then something unprecedented caught up on me, and I walked straight down the street without looking at the ladies at all!!!

Then, after walking for a few couple of seconds, I looked back, and introspected. I then realized that

Man is so fearing that he would give up the act of greatness just in order to not look odd.

I believe that there's thousands and thousands of people who have not been able to unleash greatness at times when they want to, just because they feared that same bad thing would happen.

I do believe that there's thousands and thousands of arms and legs who are willing to work for the society. But, only a few get to project their willingness.
There's thousands and thousands of willing heart who want to love, but only a fraction of them get to love!
